Delicate Gender is a series of work about the flaws of how femininity is viewed, treated, and fostered in our current society. It is true that nurture overtakes nature in the case of gender expression when we are young people, as we fall suit to the roles in which we were prescribed at birth. This act, the act of carrying out standards of gender to blend in to the world that our ancestors have created, is beginning to fall apart.
As we get older we understand not only ourselves to a greater degree, but also the world that surrounds us. Our opinions of who we are and who we choose for other people to see take shape as this understanding grows. Gender plays a significant role in how we react to the world, providing us either a free escape from danger or an immersive experience in that very same thing.
